There is something satisfying about making your own medicine. This hands-on workshop with local farmer and forager Tolvin Stiles walks you through the entire process, from identifying wild medicinal plants in the North Carolina mountains to pouring your finished salve into a jar you take home.
You will learn basic foraging techniques, extract plant properties into infused oils, and work those oils into a finished herbal salve. No prior experience needed. Tolvin has spent years learning these plants, and he teaches the same way he works: practical, patient, and grounded in real knowledge.
What to expect:
- Identification and responsible foraging of wild medicinal herbs found locally
- Herb storage and the basics of oil infusion
- Hands-on salve making from start to finish
- A jar of your own handcrafted salve to take home
All materials are provided. Just show up ready to get your hands into something useful.
This workshop is a good fit for anyone curious about herbalism, natural skincare, or simply learning what grows around them and what it can do.
Tolvin Stiles, a longtime farmer and forager, has spent years cultivating deep expertise in native and medicinal plants through hands-on experience in the field and forest. He brings a deep knowledge of wild medicinal plants and a hands-on, approachable teaching style to every workshop.
