  • Wild Seed Collection and Processing Workshop

Winding Stair Gardens 57 Saunders Rd., Franklin, NC, United States

Learn to collect and process wild, native seed by hand, in home garden quantities, with no special tools required. Skye Cahoon, Conservation Outreach Director at Mainspring Conservation Trust, covers ethical collection methods that won't harm the plants or their habitat, along with an introduction to the WNC Wildseed Library program. The workshop runs Thursday, September 3rd from 5pm to 7pm in our covered outdoor learning pavilion, so dress for the weather and bring water and something to take notes with. This event is free and open to the public, though donations to support the Wildseed Library are appreciated.

  • Fall Equinox Yoga

Winding Stair Gardens 57 Saunders Rd., Franklin, NC, United States

Meet the fall equinox on your mat, surrounded by the changing colors and softening light of the garden. This gentle, all-levels class with Sharon Mandel focuses on grounding the body and steadying the breath as the year turns inward and light and dark come into balance. Expect slow, mindful movement, poses that root and settle, and time to reflect on what you're ready to release and what you want to carry into the season ahead. Bring a mat, dress in layers for a cool mountain morning, and come as you are, whether you've practiced for years or are returning after time away.
