Most of the invasive plants that end up in our woods and waterways started somewhere close to home. Yards, landscape beds, and yes, plant nurseries. Once they’re loose, getting them out is harder than anyone expects.

In this class, Adam Bigelow addresses the issues and harms around both invasive plants and the overuse of synthetic herbicides to control and remove them.

You’ll learn both mechanical and chemical methods of controlling invasive plants, what works, what doesn’t, and how to decide which approach fits your property.

Most home-scale invasive plant problems can be handled without synthetic herbicides. On larger acreage, herbicides are sometimes the only method that remains economically feasible. Adam covers techniques for both, including all-natural herbicide options, along with the real harms of relying on synthetic chemicals as a first resort.

He’ll also clear up some of the myths circulating on all sides of this touchy subject.

Bring your questions, your concerns, and an open mind.
